Dear Class of 2013,
My name is Mrs. A. Moore-Webb and you are enrolled in my Advance Placement Literature class this year. I am looking forward to an exciting and transformational year. It is my goal to provide all students with an educationally challenging, yet fun, experience in my classroom. Additionally, I look forward to learning from and getting to know each of you. I honestly believe that it is no mistake you have been placed in my class. It is a bit of destiny, that I hope we take full advantage of.
World and Multicultural Literature are fun and interesting, yet very demanding courses. We will cover a plethora of literature (fictional and nonfictional). We will engage in intellectual discourse covering a variety of topics. We will view informational videos that help to enhance our studies. There will be homework assignments almost daily. Each student will need a half inch black binder, dividers, a pocket folder with holes, blue or black pens and pencils, and paper. These materials should be brought to class every day.  I will not have materials to share with senior students. We cover a lot of material in one class period so locker passes will not be issued.
Your syllabus will be attached to this blog shortly. I suggest you go home and read it.Then it is imperative you bring back a signed syllabus contract. I have written this contract to ensure that you and your parents/guardians understand how this course will run. If you have any questions regarding the syllabus or the course, please contact me.
I have extremely high expectations of all my students, and for that I will not apologize. You are at a very vital point in your life. This year will determine a lot in reference to the rest of your life. I am here to help guide that transition. I have high hopes for you. I am anticipating you will rise to those expectations by ensuring that your work is being done and you are doing your part. Life will not wait for you to get ready, so be ready, NOW!  I am available to help students individually during my prep periods, and after school. If you or your parents have any questions for me, email is the fastest and most effective form of communication for me. Please take advantage of that.
Thank you,

Mrs. A. Moore-Webb
